Jawab e Shikwa by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal
(Answer to The Complaint)

Hum Tau Mayal Ba-Karam Hain, Koi Sayal Hi Nahin
Rah Dikhlaen Kise Rahraw-e-Manzil Hi Nahin

Behold, my hands arc full of gifts, but who comes seeking here?
And how shall I the right road shew when there’s no traveler?

With all the chaos and Fatwas of course, Dr. Iqbal had to come up with part two. Who knew there is answer to “The Complaint” also? Nonetheless here it was in 1913 Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal released the answer to 1909 much controversial poetry “The Complaint”
In Jawab e Shikwa Dr. Iqbal beautifully used his lyrical expression to explain how Allah would have responded. The poem was recited by Iqbal at Mochi Gate in 1913 at a fundraising event to help the Turks fight the Bulgarians. Money collected from selling copies of the poem was forwarded to Constantinople. Jawab-e-Shikwa is a powerful, commanding, and highly successful endeavor to make Muslims aware of their own shortcomings, very relevant to this day. Now that is a beautiful way to put forward our own ugly. As humans we always tend to shift blame on someone and we rarely keep ourselves accountable for our shortcomings and Dr. Iqbal figured a way out to put a message across; now of course “The complaint” acquired reservations from our so called orthodox Muslims but who knew Jawab e Shikwa is about to get Iqbal the title of “Mujahid” from “Kaafir”

In first four stanzas Iqbal of course replying as if the reply is made by God himself says that anything said from the heart that holds deepness and truth reaches far beyond Arsh. Furthmore, when it starts to get to the main point Allah says humans are not the same anymore, they do not even know how to communicate anymore. Then in next four stanzas Allah says the way you put forward your concerns in “The complaint” obviously had some real concerns and truth to it and I listened to them and then Allah says I am always here with my hands full of gifts and, then Allah questions but, who comes seeking for those gifts? Allah does not help those who do not help themselves first, then why these complain? In Stanza number 9 Allah says how many of you love me more than your sleep? And wake up for Fajar? In stanaza 10 Allah tells us that we are the people who love our homes the least and incompetent in knowledge the most.
In further stanzas Allah complains that those were some other folks who fought for me they were the great progenitors and we lack both their type of brain and brawn. Allah says you all have same and one God, one book, one religion yet you all are divided in so many sectors so on so forth. Allah shows the mirror to humans and then by the end Allah says make your wisdom your shield, make divine love your sword and you should know the world is already yours. If all of you do what is right and necessary then effort is all that ends up being you fate. Now who can beat this? Such a beautiful message that makes you actually think Allah is conversation with us one on one.
