Jobs is an American biographical drama film released in 2013. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matt Whiteley, with Ashton Kutcher playing Steve Jobs, it vividly presents the ups and downs of this technological legend from his time as a student at Reed College in 1974 to the introduction of the iPod in 2001.
The film begins with a middle - aged Steve Jobs introducing the iPod at an Apple meeting. Then the scene flashes back to 1974. Jobs, who dropped out due to high tuition, continued to attend classes with the permission of Dean Jack Dudman. He was particularly interested in a calligraphy course. Influenced by books and his LSD experiences, he and his friend Daniel Kottke went to India. Two years later, Jobs, back in California, partnered with Steve Wozniak to commercialize Wozniak's designed personal computer and founded Apple Computer. Driven by Paul Terrell's order, Jobs convinced his father and started his business journey in the family garage, recruiting partners to expand the team. Since then, Apple experienced the improvement of Apple I, the successful launch of Apple II, but Jobs also gradually drifted apart from his friends during the success and chose to break up when his girlfriend Chrisann Brennan was pregnant.
Ashton Kutcher restored Jobs' perseverance and innovative spirit through delicate performances.
