In this powerful short discourse, Swami Chinmayananda reveals how regret arises when we let desire overpower our inner conscience. The mind whispers “Do it,” while deep within, the intellect cries “Don’t do it — you’ll regret.” But the louder our desires, the more we drown out that silent voice.
When we chase fleeting pleasures, the mind is drawn into transient experiences, only to return with dissatisfaction, remorse, and turmoil. This is the pain of regret. In spiritual life, integrating mind and intellect is the path to inner harmony.
