Award-winning winemaker Grant Coulter (ex-Beaux Frères) produces some mightily impressive chardonnay and pinot from Flâneur’s two rather disparate vineyards. The first, Flanerie vineyard (Ribbon Ridge AVA), produces a wonderfully savoury pinot noir, while the rocky, elevated La Belle Promenade vineyard (Chehalem Mountains AVA), which was once home to a cherry orchard, produces a pinot with dark fruit forwardness and soft tannins. Look out for their new tasting area and hospitality centre housed in the site’s redeveloped 120-year-old grain elevator. It’s going to be awesome. It opens in September. flaneurwines.com
