Toyota 4Runner Mechanical Failure & Injury

Defendant repaired the drive-shaft on the plaintiff's vehicle which failed on a freeway causing severe injury to the driver. The initial demand from the plaintiff was $119,000 but the dealer disputed liability.

We created several animations that had the jury understand a complex mechanical failure. After only 8 days in trial and 3 hours of jury deliberation, the plaintiff was awarded $2.2 million dollars.

Lead attorney, Steve Vartazarian: "It was very difficult with words alone to explain to the jury what happened in this case. More importantly, without the animation, the jury was unable to understand how the plaintiff injured his neck and right shoulder. Also, with respect to liability, it was very important to show the jury how the vehicle behaved after the driveshaft fell out and the animation was pivotal on that point. The animation was key in obtaining the verdict in that when the jury saw it they nodded their heads up and down and for the first time really understood what had happened."
