2011 Polaris Sportsman Transmission Noise & Fix

Описание к видео 2011 Polaris Sportsman Transmission Noise & Fix

2011 Polaris Sportsman 500 with almost 3000 miles started making a horrible noise and had trouble moving. The noise sounded like it was coming from the transmission. The main drive chain in the transmission was stretched beyond the point where the tensioner could keep it tight so it would skip over the gear teeth when trying to accelerate. A new chain would cost $239, plus the trans probably needed all new bearings and seals. I found a used transmission from a 2013 Sportsman 800 on eBay for $197 with free shipping. Once I received it I checked the chain, it was good, so I installed new seals and also sealed the case back up before installing it. The install was not hard, the worst part it getting the axles out as they were rusted to the splines. Everything was cleaned and greased during reassembly. It is once again ready to pull underpowered Hondas out of mud pits.
