Eco soap - making soap from repurposed cooking oil - Delizia Naturally

Описание к видео Eco soap - making soap from repurposed cooking oil - Delizia Naturally

Here I show you how I filter used cooking oil and how to then use this oil to make soap. I usually source this used cooking oil from local cafes and restaurants. This particular oil is from my Aunts who supplied me with their left over oil from cooking.

This oil is a mixture of sunflower oil and olive oil. For purposes of making soap, both of these oils have similar properties.

The recipe for this soap is:
1849g used cooking oil (sunflower and olive oil)
13g antioxidant - Vitamin E Tocopherol
325g sea water
250g lye (sodium hydroxide)
[1.3:1 water to lye ratio]

5 teaspoons White clay
22g Orange essential oil
37g Lavender Essential oil
5.5g Cedarwood Atlas Oil

Use plain flour to filter the oil - for this volume, I waited four hours for the flour to sink to the bottom. For a smaller amount it won't take as long.

I am more than happy to answer any of your questions.

I unmoulded these soaps after 48 hours.

I have written a blog about using left over cooking oil for soap here:

p.s. I used to be a public servant for several years :)

Thanks for watching
