Close-range:

Wields a rapier, with combo slashes and thrusts. The final thrust can lift the player and impale them in crystals. Those rapier attacks can be parried and riposted.

Strategies by Build
1. Melee Rush

Close the distance and pressure aggressively to interrupt casting and stagger the Sage.

Upon teleport, chase and repeat. Phase 2: eliminate clones quickly (they take one hit) – then target the real boss (purple spells)


Parrying rapier combos into ripostes can skip Phase 2 entirely if timed right.


2. Pyromancy

Rush in and spam fast-casting spells like Combustion or Sacred Flame. The boss’s pyromantic weakness makes this highly effective and can skip Phase 2.

During Phase 2, use Fireball variants to rapidly dispose of clones.

3. Archery / Ranged

Use pillars for brief cover from projectiles. Be cautious of Soul Rain that penetrates cover.


In Phase 2, prioritize ranged elimination of clones before focusing on the main boss.

4. Magic Casters

This is less ideal—Sage resists magic. Use Magic Shield or Great Magic Shield for protection, and Crystal Magic Weapon to buff melee damage.



Use Homing Crystal Soulmass between teleports to passively whittle clones.


5. Other Tactics

Throwing Knives are great for dispatching clones safely and quickly.

Toxic or Poison builds (like using Storyteller's Staff) can slowly whittle down the boss from a safe distance.


Boss cannot teleport while Homing Crystal Soulmass is active—use to lock it in place!
