[Notes:crowds at parade]Despite the high temperatures, the crowds lined the street for Sunday's Puerto Rican Day parade in New York - bringing another type of warning.SOT: Arturo Guzman, American Red Cross: "stay away from alcohol. And...that's a mistake. They're gonna start drinking beer and whatever it is. That's gonna suck away more of your moisture." [Notes:various of marchers] A Fire Department spokesman says paramedics treated more marchers than usual for heat exhaustion. [Notes:ice cream vender]But all the heat is good news for some peopleThis ice cream vendor was busy in the hot weather... [Notes:interiors of store]For one store in New York, Sen Charles Schumer was even helping sell the cooling units.SOT: Sen Charles Schumer, D-NY: "this one here, Gibson, costs $189. You save on your electric bill so much that in 8 months you paid the whole $189." Officials say the heat wave should break by Wednesday, but warn the hot weather can be very dangerous.
