ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi Wednesday while lauding immense sacrifices of the civilian and armed forces of Pakistan in the war on terror, cautioned that next few months could be tense in the context of security situation due to emerging situation on the western borders of the country.
The president was addressing a ceremony held here to commemorate the unmatched sacrifices of Islamabad Capital Territory Police on Youm- e-Shuhada-e-Police.
The president said that India was sabotaging peace in Pakistan as they never tolerated it to move on the path of progress and prosperity. India had also been involved in Lahore terrorist blast case, he added.
He said that Pakistan had proved to the world that it was a peace-loving country and stood for peace and stability of the region.
The president said security forces of Pakistan and the nation had rendered unmatched sacrifices in the war on terror. About 70,000 precious lives had been lost in that war.
