Shell mold process, also known as coated sand shell mold process, mainly uses hot coated sand or cold resin sand to make sand mold or sand core. The combined sand mold is placed in the sand box of the molding line, and the bottom and periphery are filled with steel shot or dry sand to fix the sand mold. It can also be fixed by fixture for bare pouring.
·Sand mold is subject to pouring, cooling, box turning and other processes after gluing or fixture assembly, so as to separate the casting from the sand. Castings are removed by vibratory shakeout and apron conveyor. And separate that steel shot from the coated sand, cool the separated steel shot, and returning the steel shot to the sand filling bin. The coated sand is prepared into new coated sand or cold core box sand after thermal regeneration or mechanical regeneration.
·Compared with the traditional sand casting, shell casting has the advantages of less dust on site, less environmental pollution, fast cooling speed of castings, good permeability of sand mold, and high recovery rate of steel shot and silica sand due to the filling of steel shot. The initial investment of the whole set of equipment is small and the production flexibility is high.
·The castings produced by the shell molding line have high geometric accuracy and dimensional accuracy, and can significantly reduce the casting defects of the castings, reduce the rejection rate of the castings, improve the surface quality of the castings, and reduce the processing amount of the processing part.
