Oxalate poisoning symptoms and treatment...

Feeding of oxalate rich intercrop weeds causing severe kidney problems in animal in many regions of India. This weed are commonly called blue pimpernel which are found in maize, capsicum chili, cotton, turmeric crops etc...

Anagalis arvensisweed contains
different poisonous principles like glycosides, volatile oil, saponin (anagallin), tannin, and oxalates. In scarcity of fodder, cattle in some regions had exposure to Anagallis arvensis weed causing oxalic acid toxicity and nephrotic syndrome.

Symptoms of affect animal...

Tympany, initial frequently urination subsequent oligourea/anurea.
Perineal region of animal swelling
Hypocalcimia cause milk fever like symptoms.
Anorexia

Treatment protocol
Parenteral calcium borogluconate iv then orall calcium supplements for 3-5days..

Anti-inflammatory, multivitamine and diuretic.

Fluid therapy for proper kidney function.
