Filming location: Sawley Road, Breaston (DE72 3EF)

A level crossing on the Midland Main Line just outside of Long Eaton, on the 100mph stretch towards Derby. This level crossing in its current form dates back to the 2000s (bar some equipment renewals), and the quiet alarms here sound practically identical to those at a certain half-barrier crossing on the Cross Country route between Tiverton and Exeter. As of when I visited, the barriers here were practically brand-new, and were even branded 'HT Rail Systems' on the counterweights - the new parent company of the most common barrier manufacturer. This video features about half an hour or so's action in the late afternoon, featuring 170s and Meridians. A good filming session, and a welcome relief after an ordeal at the previous crossing I went to on this day!
