JAPAN vs FRANCE | Highlights | Women's VNL 2024. The second week of the qualifying round of the Volleyball Nations League 2024 is being held in Macau (China).

The Japanese women's national team, ranked 8th in the FIVB world rankings (before the start of the match), competed in this tournament. They faced France, ranked 17th, and won in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15), bringing their total record to 4 wins and 2 losses in the tournament.

A match against France, the host country of the Paris 2024 Olympics. In the early part of the first set, Japan got off to a good start with spikes from Ishikawa Mayu and Koga Sarina, and a service ace from Yamada Nichika, leading 4-0. After that, Koga and Ishikawa continued to play well, widening the lead to 8-3. They shut down the opponent's attacks with aggressive serves, and the match progressed at Japan's rhythm. From the middle to the end of the game, Japan's momentum continued, with all players involved in scoring, and the two liberos, Kojima Manami and Fukudome Keimi, encouraged the team with their natural receiving power, and they took the first set 25-14.

The second set began with a two-attack from Iwasaki Koyomi, and Japan broke down France with their serves. The opponents also attacked using their height, but the blocks centered on Araki Sayaka and Yamada worked well, and Japan took the lead 8-4. Japan was struggling with points lost due to mismatches and the opponents' strong and weak serves, and was at a 14-12 deficit at times, but Araki's block points extended the lead to 16-12, and Japan continued to score points with spikes from Ishikawa and others, winning the set 25-18.

Japan started the third set by attacking with serves, and Ishikawa, Araki, and Koga all scored spikes to give Japan the lead. A service ace from Koga, a broad attack from Yamada, and a quick from Araki combined to push Japan away from the opponent and make it 13-9. A good receive from Fukudome led to an opponent spike error, and Japan further extended their lead to 14-9. Kurogo Ai, Miyabe Airi, Matsui Tamaki, and Inoue Arisa, who were brought in midway through the set, also played their roles well and showed great performances that led to points, and Japan took the set 25-15 and won in straight sets.
