This walk started from Loch Chon car park (limited parking) the weather was overcast with the possibility of scattered showers. We made our way from the car park down to the east side of Loch Dhu then headed along the path by loch Dhu house it was all forest track now gaining a little bit of height on the way which gave us some lovely views over Loch Chon making our way along the west side of Loch Chon we passed through an area where tree felling is taking place ( this area is closed to pedestrians Monday to Friday due to forestry operations) making our way round behind Frenich farm we picked up the Stronachachlar trail heading up bye the Fairy Knoll this is an undulating section we stopped for our snack break just before the Knoll, then it was off again there is a tremendous amount of growth in the vegetation this year and the ferns partially obscured our view of the nearby hills this trail is the high route and eventually gave us some wonderful views over Loch Arklet with the Arrochar alps in the distance , bypassing the Inversnaid trail we head down the single track rd to Stronachlachar arriving at the pier overlooking Loch Katrine (the pier waiting room has been turned into a lovely little cafe with wonderful views across the Loch well woth visiting ) This was the halfway point of our walk , after a quick cuppa at the lochside we headed off back up hill we decided to take the low rd (single track rd ) along the side of loch Arklet rather then the the trail as time was marching on and this way is a little bit shorter and on the flat ,after passing Loch Arklet we made our way bye the entrance to Frenich farm which is at the head of Loch Chon we headed along the single track rd beside Loch chon passing the Camp site then arriving back at the Car park . Distance walked 12 miles Acc Ascent 1000 ft time taken 6.5 hrs
