Joining me 10/10/24 will be guitarist/song writer Chris Herin of the Detroit progressive rock band Tiles. Chris will be releasing his first album under the Herin moniker, Hiding In Plain Sight, on the Lasers Edge label, on 11/1/24. Chris and his long time progressive rock band Tiles came across my radar back in 2001 when I attended the (sadly now defunct) NEARfest Art/Progressive Rock Festival in Bethlehem, PA. Ken Golden of Lasers Edge recommended Tile 99' release, Presents of Mind, to me as I was wearing a Rush tee shirt and he said, "if you are a hard core Rush fan, you'll love this band", He was right ! Presents of Mind was a constant in the cd player back then for sure. Coming into the present day, I was alerted by a music PR company that I work with, that Chris was issuing his first "solo" release under the Herin name and I jumped at the chance to have him on to discuss the new album, Hiding in Plain Sight.

I should also mention Chris is the guitarist for fellow Detroit prog rockers Discipline, and this new album includes a who's who of progressive and hard rock royalty as contributors. The new album is produced by the legendary Terry Brown (Rush, Fates Warning, Jimi Hendrix Experience, April Wine, Max Webster, Fifth Angel etc etc) and features artwork by the, again legendary, Hugh Syme (Rush, Dream Theater, Kim Mitchell/Max Webster, Saga, Bon Jovi etc etc), and there are 11 songs totaling 55 minutes with nearly 30 different musicians contributing their skills to the whole.

Some of the luminaries adding their musical contributions to Hiding In Plain Sight are, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarists, Alex Lifeson (Rush) and Peter Frampton; names more recognizable to prog music aficionados include Randy McStine (Porcupine Tree), Doane Perry (Jethro Tull), Michael Sadler (Saga), Kim Mitchell (Max Webster/Solo), Tim Bowness (No-man/Solo), and Crown Lands; also, included are Chris' talented friends such as Kevin Chown, Matthew Parmenter (Discipline), David Barrett, and Jeff Kollman (Edwin Dare/Glenn Hughes/Alan Parsons/Solo).

Since Chris and I are both massive Rush nerds this could get weird ... You've been warned !!
