Completely off topic: what 30 pounds of clothes looks like purchased at the Goodwill bins!

I spent $15 on shoes ( 5 pairs X $3 each).
32 lbs of clothing at $1.25 a lb
Tax was $4.54

My grand total was $59.54

There were 3 new with tags items… a yoga pants, a red dress, and pair of black jeans. There were some things that looked new but didn’t have tags. The rest were used.

I always keep everything outside. I take it in a load at a time and directly wash it/ run it through the dryer. Anything that can’t be washed gets bagged in a contractor bag and left sealed for 2 weeks. I am a bit paranoid about bringing bugs into the house and this stuff is dirty. ( Trust me you see unwashed undies in the bins and it’s usually covered in animal hair.) However I am up for an adventure and I don’t mind washing clothes.

Also … I went to the city to get this. My town is very small and doesn’t have a thrift store. I donate everything that doesn’t fit to a blessing box type location that is local. I typically do a big purge before school starts and anything that doesn’t fit, gets donated. Then we buy new school clothes/new shoes. My kids will rotate in anything from the previous year as long as it fits, is stain free, and has no holes. I don’t think it matters if they mix in a few thrifted items especially for things like dances where the dresses will likely be worn once or twice.
