Chiquita Linda - Joe B Perera

Joe B Perera from Negombo, Sri Lanka started music in 1964 with the band Los Muchachos. Negombo is called the 'Little Rome' of Sri Lanka. A number of other music groups came from Negombo with the prefix 'La' or 'Los' in their band names, such as La Ceylonians, Los Cabelleros etc. By profession Joe was a banker, who liked Paraguayan music style. Joe's first composition is 'Yakada Thalanna' an all time classic in Sri Lanka. After three years with Los Muchachos, he formed his own band 'Meemesso'. The group had five Perera's and continued making music until 1979 where they split up, and Joe embarked on a solo career.
