The grand parade, featuring hundreds of people in Regency dress, took place on 9 September 2023.

It was the hottest day of the year in England, which was sweltering in a surprise September heatwave.

The annual Jane Austen Festival celebrate the life and works of the famous author of classics such as Pride and Prejudice.

Jane died in 1817, aged just 41, and only wrote six complete novels. Her style of writing, the characters she created, and the elegant age in which they lived, became hugely popular in the late twentieth century.
