Count the Elk - An Evening E-bike Ride In Tusayan, AZ

TLDR - see the elk at 0:46, 10:29 and 11:25. If you are interested, read on...

After my favorite dinner when I'm up working at the Grand Canyon - a strawberry mango chicken salad at the Foodie Club (I could do shots of that dressing), I took a sunset ride through the town of Tusayan, AZ. Tusayan is the Gateway to the Grand Canyon, even though that name has oddly been stolen by Williams, AZ which is an hour away.

I didn't get very far before I was stopped by a herd of cow elk. They stopped traffic for about 10 minutes as they leisurely blocked AZ 64 (the road through town and into the National Park).

Afterwards, I rode up the Grand Canyon Village Greenway to Long Jim Loop, where I headed back to the south and looped around the west side of town. I ran into several more cows and some big bucks! It was getting dark so the video doesn't do them justice. The thumbnail was a cell phone pic I got of the largest one.

After going through some of the local's housing areas, I found a shortcut to the Grand Canyon Airport then headed back to my hotel. The video is a bit long but a few of you have actually said that they enjoy the "leisurely ride" videos.

Here's a map of the ride. It includes the ride from the hotel to dinner. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/223364029
