Alien Breed no death run

Aha! This is a break from my usual platforming shenanigans, isn't it?

I'm beginning to think all these games I'm going through don't belong to the wow-I'm-an-awesome-gamer-now category as much as they belong to the maybe-this-isn't-as-hard-as-I-remember one. I barely scraped through Alien Breed back in the '90s, and here, after a day and a half of practice, is the NDR. Of course, I didn't have the benefit of save states back then, so practising one little bit meant playing the whole game up to that point, but surely that would just mean that perfecting the game would take a bit longer.

Having said that, I'm sure I'm a better gamer now. I look at games totally differently now. I look for patterns, pathways and strategies instead of just trying to get through with brute force and hoping for the best.

I really enjoyed coming back to Alien Breed, so I might look at doing Special Edition '92 and Alien Breed II as well. Maybe they'll be no death runs, maybe not. We will see.
