Under reverse charge mechanism, the recipient has to pay the tax has to the government, instead of the supplier.

Typically, there are three broad conditions where reverse charge comes into play :

1. import of goods and services
2. Purchase of goods from designated zone
3. Purchase of crude oil for processing and resale
