I‘ve been writing a blog post on 6 macrame braid patterns and I just wasn’t 💯% happy with the photos…

So I re-filmed it with double cords and it looks SO. MUCH. BETTER.

How to create a 6-strand braid:
1. Start with a multiple of 6 cords hanging down. In this case I have 6 cords folded in half with 2 strands hanging down from each; 12 hanging strands in total.
2. Cross the 2nd set of cords over the 1st set, cross the 4th set over the 3rd set, and cross the 6th set over the 5th set.
3. Take the new 4th set and bring it in front of the 5th set and behind the 6th set.
4. Take the 3rd set and thread it behind the 2nd set.
5. Bring the 1st set around behind the 2nd set and in towards the middle.
6. Take the 5th set and weave it behind the 4th set, in front of the 3rd set, and behind the 2nd set.
7. Take the 6th set and weave it in front of the 5th set, behind the 4th set, and in front of the 3rd set.
8. Take the 1st set and weave it behind the 2nd set and in front of the 3rd set.
9. Take the 6th set and weave it in front of the 5th set, behind the 4th set, and in front of the 3rd set.
10. Repeat steps 9 and 10 until the desired length is reached.
