Описание к видео FYIC 2026 Day 25 | Rococo Square Fragment | Zentangle Practice

Welcome to Day 25 of FYIC 2026 – A Fragment of Your Imagination 🎨

Today’s fragment is Rococo, a square fragment by Nina Dreher-Goeddertz. This is a really enjoyable fragment to explore, especially once you start playing with rotation and mirroring.

Rococo is built from curves and organic forms, and while it works beautifully as a single fragment, things get particularly interesting when it’s repeated. By rotating and mirroring the fragment within a reticulum, the shapes begin to come together to form orb-like meta-patterns, which adds a lovely sense of detail and cohesion across the tile.

In this lesson, I focus on:
working with a square fragment that lends itself well to rotation
using mirroring to encourage emerging meta-patterns
noticing how organic curves interact when repeated

Rococo is a great example of how a fragment doesn’t need to be complex to be playful and effective. A simple structure, repeated thoughtfully, can create something that feels rich, balanced and full of life.

This lesson is part of the Fragment of Your Imagination Challenge 2026, hosted by 7 Forests 5 Rivers in collaboration with Musterquelle. Throughout January, I’m sharing:
a full narrated lesson each day here on YouTube
a timelapse reel across my social channels
an additional combined tile video every four days, bringing fragments together in a larger composition

If you’re drawing along, I’d love to know what you noticed with this one - did you spot the orbs straight away, or did they appear gradually as the tile came together?
