This song is a prayer to invoke lord Shiva to assume the form of Natraja and bless the people with his eternal dance of life and death. Any event of celebration in Gaddi life is beautifully expressed in its folk songs which is accompanied by dance and playing of gaddi traditional musical instruments (Dhol and Naggada). The hallmark of this folk song is the invocation of Lord Shiva and it catalogues the episode of deliberation between mother Paravati and holy Ganga about the status of their respective relationship with Shiva. Shiva is addressed as Dhudu (the one who is the supreme creator and destroyer and rubs the ash of the cremation ground signifying the transient nature of the mortal world). On the invocation of his devotees, Natraja , the Shiva,blesses them with Tandava (eternal dance of life and death). The song talks about the instance when Mother Paravati and Mother Ganga go to fetch water where Paravati questions Ganga about the status of relationship between two of them. Ganga affirms that she is the second wife of Shiva which results in a fierce battle between the two goddesses breaking their precious jewelry. Sage Bagirath takes away Goddess Ganga leaving Lord Shiva alone.
