For a third year running activists from the group Berlin Against Pinkwashing staged a protest at Berlin’s annual Christopher Street Parade.

The activists hung a large banner from the Siegessäule which read “NO PRIDE IN ISRAELI APARTHEID”.

The group demanded that the parade organisers stop allowing the Israeli government to “pinkwash”, a term used to describe the state-sponsoring of gay-friendly events to conceal its occupation and colonization of Palestine.

Activists also joined the pride parade from below with a banner that read “50 YEARS OF APARTHEID: YOU CAN’T PINKWASH THIS”. They handed out leaflets and chanted “No pride in CSD until Palestine is free!”
