This is the second part of our look at the Nauvoo Expositor. In the church the Expositor is seen as completely untrustworthy. Its only goal was to attack Joseph Smith by excommunicated members. Joseph was completely in the right by destroying such a vile publication. However, this is all wrong. The Expositor was right, and the authors were incredibly courageous. They were willing to look directly into the darkness and call it for what it is. Joseph and the church had departed from the true principles of God and needed to repent.
