Garment factory workers have protested violently against the deaths of two of their teenaged peers in a road accident in Dhaka, blocking streets for several hours.

Hundreds of protesters took to the street in front of Abul Hotel in Malibagh after a Suprobhat Paribahan bus ran over and killed two female workers around 1:30pm on Tuesday, Rampura Police Station OC Ebamul Haque said.

The demonstrators torched two buses and vandalised over 50 other vehicles on the street from Malibagh to Rampura, bdnews24.com photographer Abdullah Al Momin said from the scene.
