If this was a beauty contest than white pair of Yamahas HS5 would win it hands down. Unfortunately for Yamaha we are focusing here more on sound and in this case it is the cheaper (and uglier) Presonus Eris E5 that wins this comparison. HS5, except for big price tag, has two problems, lean bass response that begs for help from subwoofer and honky colorations in lower midrange. Eris E5 despite some booming in upper bass response, has fuller sound and good clarity across the range and in my opinion is better choice out of these two. What do You think?
