What's in my 2022 watercolor palette? ✶ Swatching my new colors!

It's been a while since I've shared an update about my watercolor palette, and a lot has changed! Ok maybe not a ton, but enough for another swatching video :) This time my colors are mainly focused around coastal theme since I'm spending the majority of my painting hours on Scotland's coast. But honestly it's such a well-rounded palette you can paint anything with it. #watercolor #swatches #palette

The majority of my colors are very lightfast and non-toxic. There are a few exceptions regarding heavy-metals in my new colors, particularly the Schmincke Super Granulating watercolours.

Always do your own research before buying, based on your personal criteria. I recommend using Handprint.com and Artiscreation.com which are pigment databases.

Color FAQ:
"If you could only use 6 colors, what would they be?"
Now? Ultramarine Finest, Vanadate yellow, Quinacridone Magenta, Diopside Genuine, Lamp Black, Helio Turquoise. But ask me again next week.

"Where can I get the Portable Painter custom pans?"
They told me they are working on adding them to Amazon UK and EU, be patient, they'll be available soon.

"What do you do with dirty paint water when painting outside?"
Pour it into an empty plastic travel bottle and take it home to dispose of in the sink when I clean my brushes.

"Will I get sick from using 'toxic' paint?"

If you are concerned with this subject, research what is inside your dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, conditioner, mattress, or literally anything you use daily. Also research environmental impacts of your food production (meat, dairy, soy, palm oil, etc.). Look up 'carbon footprint' of your next flight, car journey, amazon purchase, and...you get the idea.
