Notes about the 3rd Annual Tampa Bay Music Awards – June 14th, 1991
I had the chance to direct the video production part of this event from a small video truck we setup out back of the Ritz Theater in Ybor City Florida. Jones Intercable provided the truck. The crew came from my personal production friends and various cable companies and broadcast outlets. Everybody into music wanted to work the gig. We were wired up to the house for sound and sent video to the screens for the award lineup nominees and I produced the short musician interview packages in a small Jones studio near the University of Tampa that no longer exists. Just getting musicians to show up for my questions was a trip. Those little gems are my favorite part besides the actual performances. I bought the ¾” broadcast tapes when I left the company and now after about 32 years here it is, hope you like it!

Technical info: Shot on ¾” professional tape, digitized with AJA video card and edited and exported with Adobe Premiere. Digitized files are 8-bit uncompressed and exported H264 high quality 2-VBR pass. H264 is about 12GB and the digitized material is over 400GB, lol! Digitized with a Sony VO-5600 tape deck. Tapes are 3M MBR 60min.
