The University of West Florida men's golf team is one of the most accomplished programs in the Gulf South Conference and is well-respected on the national level as a perennial contender. The men's golf program boasts two NCAA Division II National Championships and 11 Gulf South Conference Championships. The Argonauts have continued on to the NCAA postseason for 17 consecutive seasons.

For 19 years, head coach Steve Fell has led the West Florida men's golf team to the heights of NCAA Division II competition and has become one of the most decorated coaches in the Gulf South Conference. Under his leadership, the Argonauts have boasted one NCAA Player of the Year, one NCAA Freshman of the Year, and 37 All-American selections. In the Gulf South Conference alone, Fell has guided one GSC Commissioner's Trophy recipient, 10 GSC Players of the Year, six GSC Freshmen of the Year, and 62 All-GSC Team selections.
