I fixed this sharp tv for $1! (LC-50P6003U) - backlight repair

Does your tv have a black screen but has sound? Well it could be your backlight. There are a series of leds at the back of your tv and if only one of them fails the whole tv will not show any picture because there will be no light.

To do the repair,

1. Take off the back cover
2. Test the led trip with led tester
3. Take off the ribbon cables to t-con board
4. Take off the front panel.
5. Take off the LCD screen using suction cups
6. Take off the light filters - tape them together first!
7. Take off the white glossy paper
8. Test each led strip with led tester
9. Replace any LEDS that don't work see link below
