I recently purchased this 1993 300SD with 197k. It had the head replaced in 1999. From the first test drive I could tell something was off. I noticed right away that there was no pull whatsoever. I did some test and found out the Turbo was not spooling at all. I then plumbed the Turbo directly to manifold and bypassed everything and it worked, but still no change in acceleration.

I did a diesel purge and she is purring like a kitten. I also changed the fuel filters and then changed the oil. She idles better and quieter, but there is no improvement on performance. I have replaced or at least checked every vacuum line under the hood. The car shifts perfectly and smooth. The car shuts off immediately when I turn off the key. The soft close system works without issue.

I have successfully converted my wastegate to a pressure activated system. I purchased a unit from ATP and it was basically a direct bolt on installation. I am getting around 12psi of boost, which I have been reading is normal. The car seems a little better off the line, but still takes about 30 seconds to get to 60 mph. 40-60 is terribly slow. I car hear the turbo spooling and the boost gauge is showing 10-12 psi.

I removed the ALDA and did a test and no difference in performance at all. I put the ALDA back on but turned the screw CCW 1.5 times and still no difference. I just took it out for a test run and this was the result.
