The incredible Shires Model A Trumpet - ACB Show & Tell! All-around beast!

[Links in description] Woah what a trumpet! This Shires Model A is outstanding. We recently opened as a Shires dealer again and we've started to get some of their wonderful trumpets in stock at the shop. If you know the early history of ACB you'll know that I was an early tester of the Shires trumpet and had a couple signature horns with them before I became an Adams artist and dealer. The Shires pro series trumpets are completely handmade just outside Boston, Massachusetts.

The Model A is a great all-around trumpet. It's very reminiscent of the 1950s Bach Mt Vernon sound concept. Very even, clean sound with some brilliance and resonance. I'll demonstrate the horn on a couple microphones, but without any added reverb or sweetening. As you can hear, the sound lends itself well not just to classical music, but to a variety of jazz and commercial applications as well. There's good pop and crispness to the articulations.

The WH leadpipe is a little heavier than on the earlier Model A trumpets. It also has a one-piece third valve slide with no dump slide. It also has metal valve guides, which help add a little extra shimmer to the sound. The build quality is incredible, even the valves just look fantastic.
