Day 8 of our summer family road trip was filled with incredible views, unexpected delays, and unforgettable moments. We started our day in Charlotte, Vermont, boarding the Lake Champlain ferry with our car for a scenic ride to Essex, New York — and it was such a peaceful way to cross state lines. 🌊💙

From there, we headed to the famous Ausable Chasm, excited for some river rafting and a beautiful nature walk. While the chasm itself was stunning and the walk was full of jaw-dropping scenery, our plans hit a bump: a 2-hour wait just to get on a raft. 😩

It wasn’t the smoothest part of our trip, but it was real — and we still made the most of the day as a family, surrounded by nature and new experiences. 🌲🛶 Sometimes the journey doesn’t go as planned, but those moments become part of the story.
