Bowser has uprooted Peach Castle and taken Princess Peach as a hostage! As Bowser sails the stratosphere, Mario and his friends devise a plan. Yoshi heads a diversion on Rainbow Road. Him, Wario and Toad race through the skies, while Mario and Luigi seige the castle to defeat Bowser and save the princess. But the diversion works too well and Bowser uses his aerial fortress to beseige the racers. Neither is the weather in their favor as Thunderheads and Foos assail them at every corner. Buckle your seatbelts! It's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Another Rainbow Road! Yeah! I know there have been a lot of high hopes for other versions of this course. But I've really enjoyed revamping these older courses. This course in the game is rather simple, like the SNES version. The only enemy are the Thunderheads that cause you to shrink. Like what happens to Toad in this video and then Shooting Stars. Which I couldn't find a decent way to manage. Since there are clouds in the background of this course I thought Foos would be an appropriate enemy to challenge our racers.

Also the Paper Mario Bowser Castle is seen in the background. But why leave it there? Lets have some fun with this! First, this castle has these huge Spike Balls suspended from its base. Why not use those as obstacles against the racers? Initially I was gonna have Bowser attack the racers this way because he got left out of another Rainbow Road video and he was jealous. But I decided to play up a story.

The Bowser Castle is made of paper mache, pvc piping, wooden balls and paint. I spent nothing on this project other than time. Hence the delay in getting this video out more promptly.

The foos are simple fiber fill with a face taped to the front.

Like my other Rainbow Road. The landscape is filmed on a black cloth. Then by tampering with the exposure and the brightness of the video during the editing phase I can make the black backdrop disappear (almost). There are a couple of scenes that were too dark or too bright to begin with. The actual road is laminated watercolored paper that I've cut to size for the track pieces. Then, once again in the editiing phase I adjust the saturation of the colors and it a bit of a glow. If you look at my hand when I release the karts at the starting line, I look like I'm sunburnt.
