Manipur News Updates | Tribal Leader on "Amit Shah's Slip Of Tongue", Secret Peace Accord' & More

Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier met with a 5-member delegation of Kuki tribal leaders to discuss the peace process in the state of Manipur which has been witnessing violence for over 3 months now.

Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ILTF) leaders said that Kukis have been trying to defend the villages from “repeated attacks” by the Meitei groups.

This comes after the demand was raised by the Kukis to be allowed to bury 35 bodies on government-owned land in Lamka village in Manipur's Churachandpur district. Shah reportedly asked the tribal leaders to defer the proposed burial for now, and also to shift the burial site.
