🚨 BC PNP 2025 Update – Major Changes Announced! 🚨

British Columbia is tightening its immigration strategy under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) this year due to a significant 50% cut in its nomination allocation — only 4,000 spots for 2025.

⚠️ With over 5,200 applications already in the system, BC is now prioritizing nominations for:
✅ Healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, nurses, allied health)
✅ Entrepreneurs creating strong local impact
✅ Skilled workers who can generate high economic benefit to the province

🔹 Key Highlights:

Only 1,100 new applications will be accepted this year

2,900 nominations reserved for applicants already in the pool

No general or priority occupation ITAs in 2025

Approx. 100 ITAs will go to high-impact candidates from the current 10,000+ pool

ITAs for Entrepreneurs will continue

Early Childhood Educator Assistants will no longer be invited

International Post-Graduate applications (Sep 1, 2024 – Jan 7, 2025) will be waitlisted

Health Authority stream eligibility now restricted to direct care roles only

📌 New applications in 2025 will aim to meet a 3-month processing standard, and B.C. is working closely with the federal government to address the reduced allocation and support extensions for work permit holders.
