Video of my cab ride on DMIR 316 on the North Shore Scenic RR's Lester River train. THIS WAS WITH PERMISSION
Scene descriptions:
1. 316 backing to the train after the 1230 trip
2. Starting up Northbound after lining the mainline switch
3. Working the brakes on a short downhill grade
4. Up a slight uphill grade and crossing another pedestrian/bike crossing
5. Engineer and Fireman (brakeman) talking about the fact that the Two Harbors train must be late because he would have called us over the radio by then
6. I get the opportunity to blow 316's BEAUTIFUL Nathan P5 for the Harbor Dr. grade crossing
7. The Two Harbors train (RDC 9169) FINALLY calls but the radio is a jumble at first LOL
8. Accelerating after passing slowly over the Tischer Creek trestle
9. Same, but looking forward
10. Running over some pedestrian crossings and blowing for the only crossing they blow for in that Quiet Zone (they've nailed a few cars there). The engineer also jokes in the beginning about a guy that turned around at the last crossing, probably thinking we were a freight LOL
11. Passing 9169 at Lakeside
12. Backing to Lakeside to run around the train after the run up to the Lester River bridge
13. Running LHF crossing the only horn crossing in the QZ again
14. Running along I-35 on the North side of Duluth
15. A look at Lake Superior
16. Passing over Harbor Drive again near the end of the trip
