I Paint an American Flag with a Glowing Effect

James Gurney paints an American flag from a supermarket parking lot. Using gouache in plein air, he gradates the colors of the background sky colors and of the flag itself toward the light yellow of an imagined hotspot behind the flag, which gives it a a glowing light effect to this urban sketch.
