Three million acres of public land in Arizona could be turned into neighborhoods without a single public hearing.

That’s not clickbait it’s the real consequence of a 37-word amendment buried in a federal budget bill.

It would require the Forest Service and BLM to auction off up to 3 million acres of Arizona’s public land over the next five years… with zero public input.

National Parks are safe but iconic spots like Sabino Canyon, the Superstitions, and stretches of Tonto and Prescott National Forests are not.

Supporters say this will unlock affordable housing and give landlocked cities like Flagstaff and Prescott room to grow.

But others warn it’s written so loosely, it could swap starter homes for luxury cabins with no way to challenge the process once it starts.

And if this bill passes under reconciliation?
No filibuster. No hearings. No vote needed from Arizona’s Democratic senators. Just a fast-track to one of the largest land sales in U.S. history.
