How To Import Short Answer Questions into Moodle

In this video, I'll show you how to import short answer questions into Moodle from a Word document.

STEPS:
1. Copy your questions from Word to Notepad.
2. Remove any numbers.
3. The answers should be in curly brackets with an equal sign before them as shown below in the examples

EXAMPLES:

What is the capital of the United States? {=Washington D.C. =DC =D.C. =Washington DC}

What county is Hollywood located in? {=Los Angeles =Los Angeles County =LA =LA County}

What is the capital city of California? {=Sacramento}

4. Save the file as a .txt file on notepad.
5. Go to your course in Moodle.
6. Create a quiz (blank with no questions)
7. Go to Quiz Administration.
8. Click on Question bank - Import.
9. Select GIFT Format.
10. Click on General and select the quiz you created.
6. Upload your plain text file.
7. Go back to the Quiz Administration
8. Add questions from the back to your quiz
