This weekend at Serenity Grove, I built a set of four cutting boards made from a mix of domestic and exotic hardwoods — dense, beautiful, and built to last a lifetime. Each board features clean lines, rich grain contrast, and stainless-steel feet to keep the board off the countertop and prevent warping. These aren’t quick projects… these are heirloom-quality pieces designed to be used, loved, and handed down.

I walk through the full process — from milling and layout to glue-ups, shaping, sanding, and finishing. The exotic hardwoods add a designer look, and the domestic oak ties everything back to a classic, durable feel. Whether you call them cutting boards, serving boards, display boards, or heirloom kitchen pieces, these builds combine function with style.
