HOT WHEELS '91 Mazda MX-5 Miata custom

Customising a Hot Wheels FYB66 '91 Mazda MX-5 Miata, in the mainline from 2019 to present.

After my Autoalex Phil MX-5 build back in February 2024, I was contacted by Georgia who wanted me to recreate her partner Jamie's own MX-5. Jamie and Georgia have had their unnamed MX-5 since 2021 and have been working on it together turning it into their ultimate track car. Georgia wanted this to be a surprise for Jamie and gift it to him at Christmas, hence this post-Christmas release! I hope that Jamie likes the result!

In this custom build, I add in some 3D printed parts to better replicate Jamie's car. Most important of those were the pop-up lights in the raised position, as well as the roof. I had originally intended to add a roof on to Phil, but I quickly realised the parts are too brittle to cut the rear screen out. So this time I tried to be a bit creative with it and give the solid piece more of a translucent look.

Jamie and Georgia are looking for a name for this car, so leave a comment with your thoughts and you never know, they may pick your choice!
