In this Sixty Second Tutorial we cover simple method to create text and fade in or out in Premiere Pro. We cover the following...

1. First to create some text in your sequence left click on the type tool in the toolbar. You can also access the type tool by simply pressing T on the keyboard.

2. Next left click in the program window and then type in your text. A new layer with the text will above your footage in the timeline.

3. Click on the selection tool and you can now modify the size, position and style of your text by using the Motion and Text options in effect controls.

4. Now on your timeline move the text layer to where you want it to appear on screen, you can also drag the start and end of the text to extend or reduce the amount of time it appears on screen.

5. To fade in your text, go to the effects window and search for cross dissolve.

6. Drag and drop this effect onto the start of your clip to fade in and the end to fade out.

7. Again you can drag the edge of the cross dissolve effects to make the fade in or out quicker or slower.
