AM2R: Return of Samus Retrospective | The Road To Metroid Dread

Being a Metroid fan in the 2000s was glorious with great new games being released at a healthy rate. Sadly, after the release of the series's most controversial entry in 2010, the franchise entered a deep sleep. One that it would not awake from for years. Fans were starved and Nintendo's behavior implied that they had no interest in bringing Metroid back to its former glory any time soon. But in the background, a group of dedicated fans was working on a Metroid game of their own. By the mania, for the mania... wait, wrong game. Let's look at what came out of a fan's efforts to reimagine Metroid II. This is Another Metroid II Remake, aka AM2R.
