Syngenta, one of the world’s leading agriculture innovation companies brings technologies and services to farmers that empower them to unlock the potential of agriculture. They are helping increase agricultural productivity in a sustainable and responsible way, helping make farming profitable, productive, and regenerative so it is healing and not just feeding. Farmers share how climate change has impacted them and how they are overcoming these challenges with Syngenta.

Jérôme Barbaron, Head of the Africa and Middle East Crop Protection Business at Syngenta, outlines how the innovations and services Syngenta bring help farmers grow food in increasingly challenging circumstances due to climate change.

The company has a Knowledge Center in Jordan, through which it provides locally adapted solutions and improved agronomic techniques – testing and introducing innovations, protocols and sustainable farming techniques. Ülkü Schmithüsen, Middle East Business Area Head at Syngenta, says “we train farmers and partners from across the Middle East on farming techniques including application technologies and good agronomic practices like crop rotation that can help improve soil health and increase yields. Our world leading scientists and agronomists come to our knowledge centre here to provide these insights” and “we demonstrate the power of our technologies. We trial them, which enables farmers and visitors to see for themselves the difference that our technologies make” she says.

Operation Pollinator is introduced by Hassan Belkacem, Senior Technical Field Scientist at Syngenta who outlines how Syngenta is helping increase yields and supporting biodiversity. Syngenta Operation Pollinator seed mixes unlock the power of nature. Tailored to local conditions, they use spaces like field margins and headland to create a habitat for pollinators and beneficial insects, which in turn provides farmers with important ecosystem services like pollination and natural pest control.
