The jets brought residents out of their homes as they watched the remnants of flares dissipate. The mock air raid was the lowest jets had flown over the city since the beginning of the war in October. A series of airstrikes were also carried out in several areas in south Lebanon. The militant group's leader threatened punishment for Israel after coordinated blasts from electronic devices killed more than 30 people
