Wood Turning | A Live Edge Bowl from an Alaskan Spruce Burl!

I have had a few pieces of Alaskan spruce burl kicking around the shop now for years and it was time to turn them into a proper live edge bowl. These natural edge wood turnings were a challenge due to the difficulty with getting a smooth cut on the soft spruce and the crazy grain from this amazing burl.

I recently started using a bottom feeder gouge from Carter & Sons and it was a lifesaver on this project. It left the inside bottom of the bowl extremely smooth which made sanding a fairly quick process.
